Extended Cookie Usage Policy
In accordance with the Measure No. 229 of May 8, 2014 , issued by the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali) (Published in Gazzetta Ufficiale n. 126 on June 3, 2014) regarding the

“Identification of simplified methods for providing information and obtaining consent for the use of cookies.”

Introduction
This information is aimed at user who visits the website www.linehaul.sailpost.com (“WebSite”) and has the purpose of describing the methods relating to the use of cookies and other tracking tools, in implementation of the 2016 Regulation /679/EU (General Data Protection Regulation - hereinafter GDPR), article 122 of the Code regarding the protection of personal data (Legislative Decree 196/03, so-called Privacy Code) and the General Provision of the Privacy Guarantor of 8 May 2014 regarding cookies.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files containing a certain amount of information that websites visited by the user send to the user's terminal (usually a browser), where they are stored (in directories used by the user's web browser) to be transmitted back to the same sites during the user's subsequent visits.

During navigation on a website, the user may also receive cookies on their terminal sent by different sites or web servers (so-called 'Third-Party Cookies'), which may contain certain elements (e.g. images, maps, sounds, specific links to pages on other domains) present on the site that the user is currently visiting.

In general, some cookies (session cookies) are assigned to the user's device only for the duration of the access to the site and expire automatically when the browser is closed; other cookies (persistent cookies) remain on the user's device for an extended period.

Cookies perform various and important functions within the network: they are used, for example, for computer authentication, session monitoring, storing information about specific configurations regarding users accessing the server, storing user preferences, and sending advertising messages in line with the aforementioned preferences, etc.

To regulate the above, the national Legislator - with the aforementioned Measure - has identified two macro-categories of cookies: "technical" cookies and "profiling" cookies.
What are technical cookies?
Technical cookies are cookies used solely for 'the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide that service' (cfr. art. 122, comma 1, of the Code regarding the protection of personal data).

In other words, technical cookies are used to facilitate navigation on the website or to provide a service explicitly requested by the user. They are not used for additional purposes and are typically installed directly by the owner of the website. Without the use of these cookies, certain operations could not be performed or would be more complex and/or less secure

Technical cookies can be classified into:
a)

Navigation cookies: ensure the normal navigation and use of the site, allowing, for example, the completion of a purchase or authentication to access restricted areas;

b)

Analytical cookies (or analytics): are considered technical cookies if used directly by the site's Manager to collect, in an aggregated form, information about the number of users and how they visit the site;

c)

Functional cookies: allow the user to navigate based on a set of selected criteria (e.g. language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided to the user.

For the installation of the aforementioned cookies, the regulations do not require the prior consent of users, while the obligation to provide information under Article 13 of the Code regarding the protection of personal data remains in force. The site Manager, if only using such devices, may provide this information in the manner deemed most appropriate.
What are profiling cookies?
Profiling cookies are used to track user navigation on the internet and create profiles based on their tastes, habits, choices, etc.

With these cookies, targeted advertising messages can be transmitted to the user's device in line with the preferences already expressed by the user during internet navigation.

Due to the particular invasiveness that such cookies may have in the privacy of users, European and Italian regulations require users to be adequately informed about their use and express their valid consent.
Responsibility for the Installation of Cookies
To correctly identify roles and responsibilities regarding the provision of information on cookies and the online acquisition of user consent, the Legislator has distinguished two groups of entities that install cookies on the user's terminal: the Publisher and Third Parties.

The Publisher refers to the entity managing the site the user is visiting, while Third Parties are entities installing cookies on the user's terminal through the Publisher's site.

Regarding the issuance of information on Third-Party cookies and the online acquisition of user consent, the Publisher acts as a "technical intermediary" between Third Parties and users. There is no joint ownership with Third Parties for the cookies they install through the Publisher (cfr. art. 2 of the aforementioned Measure n. 229).
Types of Cookies on the Website www.linehaul.sailpost.com
The website, built using the "WordPress CMS" software, exclusively uses technical cookies, including an analytical cookie (Google Analytics) from a Third Party. The latter is used by the Manager solely for optimizing the website, i.e., collecting aggregated information for statistical purposes on anonymous users who have visited the site (e.g. number of users, number of sessions, page views, etc.; by browser, operating system, country and city, service provider, etc.).
